Ultraflow UFH systems are engineered to outperform. The XPS400 Ultra Response Board delivers even heat distribution and lower flow temperatures, while the 28mm blending valve handles higher flow rates for larger systems with minimal pressure loss. The result: lower bills and a more comfortable install.
The Ultraflow XPS400 board uses a 200 micron aluminium layer with aluminium-lined pipe grooves — not just a surface sheet. This means heat is extracted directly from the pipe and spread laterally across the entire floor, eliminating cold spots and allowing the system to run at lower flow temperatures.
| Distance from Pipe | Ultraflow (0.2mm & In Grooves) |
0.1mm Aluminium | No Aluminium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Above pipe | 35.0°C | 35.0°C | 35.0°C |
| 50mm | 33.0°C | 31.5°C | 28.0°C |
| 100mm | 31.0°C | 27.5°C | 23.0°C |
| Midpoint | 30.5°C | 25.5°C | 21.0°C |
| Temp Drop | −4.5°C — Minimal | −9.5°C — Noticeable | −14°C — Severe |

Because the XPS400 board transfers heat so efficiently, your system can run at a significantly lower flow temperature. Lower flow temperature means your heat pump operates at a higher COP and your boiler runs more efficiently — directly reducing your annual heating bill.
| System | Ultraflow XPS400 | 0.1mm Aluminium | No Aluminium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flow Temperature | 33 – 35°C | 42 – 45°C | 50 – 55°C |
| Heat Pump COP | ~4.0 | ~3.0 | ~2.5 |
| Estimated Annual Cost | £750 | £1,000 | £1,200+ |
Ultraflow doesn’t just spread heat — it extracts it efficiently, distributes it evenly, and reduces the energy required to heat your space.
For most underfloor heating systems, the 28mm blending valve is the preferred choice over a 22mm valve. Its superior capacity handles higher flow rates with significantly lower pressure drop, supporting larger multi-zone systems with smoother, more consistent temperature control.
200 micron aluminium in grooves delivers even heat spread across the full floor area — every time.
Direct heat extraction from the pipe means the floor responds faster and reaches temperature quicker.
33–35°C flow temp allows heat pumps to run at peak COP ~4.0, maximising efficiency on every installation.
Savings of up to £500 per year versus no-aluminium boards. Proven data, real-world savings.
Our UFH design service takes care of the full process — heat load calculations, pipe layout, manifold sizing and zone configuration — so every component arrives ready to install, correctly specified for your project.
